If You're Worried About Going All In On Online Business, Read This
(free gifts in the bottom, don’t miss it!)
Are you scared to ditch your job and go all in?
Well, if you have a properly functioning brain, you should be scared.
And the best move really isn’t ditch your job and everything else that you know well all at once and start dabbling in online business where you don’t know anything about.
If you’re serious about building an online business, especially as a beginner, for the love of God:
(Unless, you have a huge support system, or a large amount of money saved)
Please do not leave your 9-5 until your business can match your main job’s income for 6 months in a row.
The idea of quitting 9-5 and solely focus on your legacy and online business and becoming your boss is all too seductive.
But just because you want to build and chase your dream, doesn’t mean you should leave your wife and 4 kids wondering how to pay for mortgage and where to get food.
That should be common sense, but common sense is less common than we think.
Now with that out of the way…
If you’re one of those people who want to eventually replace you current job with a business you build from scratch (smart move).
But you have too little faith in yourself, or too worried/scared to actually start learning and diving deep into creating your own way of life.
Read on and let’s see if my (quick) story will tickle your fancy and push you a little more towards taking the leap.
I went to medical school for 8 years, I graduated with a medical doctor degree, and I will be flipping burgers. (Dr.BurgerFlipper!)
I call it flipping burgers as a blanket statement, I’m going to pick up a bunch of part time jobs to pay for my bills and my student loan while I work on my online business.
120k+ in student loan, 8 years of my life, down the drain when I decided to make this move.
Of all the things to choose from, I chose online business?
Isn’t it full of crooks and scammers?
Isn’t making money from YouTube just a child’s dream?
Don’t you think being an influencer and seeing yourself on camera is cringe?
What will all your friends and family think of you?
All of these questions are valid. In face I’m pretty sure these are the questions you ask yourself all the time when you ponder on the idea of becoming a content creator.
My (Alex Hormozi’s) counter argument to all of those questions is this:
Are you really going to let your uncle Harry or some random loser who does nothing but comment rage bait all day, to stop you from reaching your full potential?
I said Alex said it, but I kinda fudged with the phrasing to make it sound better.
In any case, if not your dreams or visions of how good like can be, would you rather keep yourself in an absolutely miserable life because your aunt or mom might look at you weird?
Then in turn grow resentful towards them?
If you’re reading this letter, it’s safe to say that any direction in life for you right now will be miserable. So at least choose for yourself.
So this is me choosing. It sucks that I know I’ll always be judged.
I really do care about what other people think of me, I’ll always want people to like me.
I’ll just have to tough it out, get laughed at, get talked behind on, risk being ridiculed by my loved ones.
It’s not a good show, but you know what’s worst?
Working a job you hate
Kissing the asses of people you don’t like, emasculate yourself everyday just to feed your children.
Not rich enough to have your own opinion on any matter. If your job gets taken away you lose your house and car, of course you’ll never be able to voice your true thoughts.
Never have time for your own wife and kids
Possibly needing your wife to work as well, which is even more emasculating. Your wife taking orders from another man?
Your kids ending up being raised by utter strangers at public schools, who knows what they’re being taught?
No money for any hobby.
1 week out of 52 for “vacation”, where will you go? Stay right at home, you can’t afford a vacation
The grim list goes on and on my friend.
You might also be thinking, what are you talking about, I thought doctors make good money?
News flash, they don’t.
My disgust for this career path will not be discussed here today, it’ll be too much for this letter.
I hope I’ve encouraged more than I discouraged you.
None of these roads are easy to walk, but you can get comfortable in any of them.
Get comfortable in the one that you believe will bring you a better life, even if it’s a lot harder. You will get comfortable. We humans adapt well.
P.S.
When you see people say “Make 10k in 6 months”, its more like in 2-5 years. There, I said it.
Of course some people will be able to make 10k in 6 months but that’s about less than 2%, with them also already having prior experience or badass mentors.
If you’re just buying a course and the dickhead seller tells you 10k a month in 6-12 months, he or she is not really talking to you.
Call it my limiting belief if you want. I would say it’s more detrimental to give yourself pressure from a false expectation than be realistic, patient and willing to do what it takes.
We’re all looking for shortcuts to money, but the fastest (and legal) way is always not cutting any corners.
2-5 years my friend. 2-5 years.
Again, just speaking from my own experience. I am 7 months in as of writing this letter, I am nowhere near my first dollar. But I’m not bitching out either.
Hopefully my personal experience and world view has some kind of positive influence over you. If you’re still not sure what’s right for you, don’t hesitate to reach out to me on any of my socials.
